Context

A global organisation is enhancing its Atlassian ecosystem to support teams across demand management, delivery, service operations, and documentation. The consultant will contribute to the stability, scalability, and continuous improvement of Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management.

Project Overview

Objective

Ensure operational excellence and continuous enhancement of the Atlassian platform, enabling alignment with ITSM, Agile, and Portfolio Management practices.

Purpose of the Role

Provide operational support, configuration, and evolution of Atlassian tools while enforcing governance, standards, and best practices across the organisation.

Expected Outcomes

  • Reduced manual effort through optimized workflows

  • Strong alignment with ITSM, Agile, and Portfolio Management processes

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management platforms

  • Design, configure, and maintain workflows, schemes, permissions, and project configurations

  • Implement and maintain automation to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency

  • Support ITSM processes (incident, request, change, problem) and Agile/portfolio use cases

  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and JQL filters for operational and management insights

  • Manage integrations with external systems (REST APIs, CI/CD, reporting tools, third‑party apps)

  • Ensure platform governance, documentation, and adherence to best practices

  • Provide L2/L3 support and collaborate with internal teams and vendors

  • Contribute to operating model initiatives, including transitions, migrations, and audit support

Key Deliverables

  • Optimized and well‑configured Jira and Confluence environments

  • Documented workflows, templates, standards, and governance assets

  • Automation rules reducing manual operations

  • Dashboards and reports supporting decision‑making

  • Knowledge base articles and operational runbooks

Required Experience & Background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience

  • 7+ years of hands‑on experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, JSM)

  • Experience supporting enterprise‑scale Atlassian environments

  • Strong understanding of Agile, ITSM, and delivery processes

  • Experience working with global, distributed teams
