Senior SAP FI Consultant – 9 month contract – remote in INDIA

We are seeking a skilled and business-oriented IT Finance Specialist to support and further develop our Finance applications and processes within the S/4 HANA IT landscape. This role focuses to the end-to-end General Ledger (GL) and sub-ledger landscape (AP, AR, Asset Accounting) in our S/4 HANA environment.

Duration:   9 months (freelance contract, 8 hours per day / full time)

 
You will work closely with the global Finance department to ensure business continuity, orchestrate incident resolution, and drive digitalization and efficiency initiatives that power transparent, real-time financial insight.
 
Key Responsibilities 

  • Guarantee seamless, reliable execution of global GL, AP, AR, and AA processes - including period-end close, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Lead incident and problem management; coordinate application-management service partners and internal stakeholders to achieve rapid resolution and root-cause elimination. The implementation/customization is mostly done by an external consultant.
  • Identify, design, and implement continuous-improvement and automation opportunities focused using SAP Standard.
  • Shape and safeguard the finance template and their applications - managing enhancements, rollouts, and integrations with other modules like CO, MM, and SD.
  • Proactive driving efficiency, stability, and cost optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and data security standards.
  • Act as trusted advisor (single point of contact) to Finance leadership, translating business requirements into sustainable technical solutions and clear road maps.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing by maintaining documentation, training materials, and user communities across regions.
  • Participate in or lead implementation projects, including requirement gathering, testing, and deployment.
  • Proactive knowledge building of the existing SAP solutions incl. Customization and Configuration.
  • Support the Incident process as much as possible.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving business needs and technologies.

 
Requirements & Qualifications

  • 5 - 8 years of hands-on SAP FI experience (GL, AP, AR, AA), with at least one S/4 HANA project or rollout.
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end finance integration with CO, MM, and SD.
  • Demonstrated success in incident handling, problem management, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills: ability to convert complex requirements into pragmatic solutions and articulate them to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven intercultural communication and stakeholder-management capabilities in multinational environments.
  • Experience in project work, system rollouts, or template design is a strong advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Informatics, Finance, or equivalent.
  • Fluent English: additional languages are a plus.
