Senior Data Architect

I am partnered with a global, data-driven organization to hire an experienced Data Architect to lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions. This is a senior, client-facing role with end-to-end ownership of enterprise level data architecture in a high-impact environment.

 

The client is looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills, who can communicate and articulate themselves well with stakeholders and is strong technically. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the data architecture models
  • Design reusable architecture patterns such as CDC ingestion, SCD handling, lakehouse/warehouse layers, and medallion architectures
  • Architect and optimize scalable ETL/ELT and ingestion frameworks for end-to-end data integration and transformation
  • Build and enhance data warehouse and datamart architectures for analytics and reporting, with a strong focus on performance tuning (partitioning, clustering, indexing, query optimization)
  • Ensure strong data governance including data quality, lineage, metadata management, and secure access controls (RBAC, encryption, data masking)
  • Lead architecture reviews, drive technical decisions, and create/maintain documentation (architecture diagrams, ERDs, data flows, integration specifications)
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, data engineering, cloud, and BI teams to translate requirements into robust, scalable solutions
  • Act as a client-facing architectural leader, owning delivery and outcomes across complex, enterprise-scale initiatives

 

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture and/or data engineering with strong architecture ownership
  • Deep expertise in data modeling (3NF, Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, Dimensional Modeling)
  • Advanced SQL skills and strong database design fundamentals
  • Proven experience with data warehousing concepts and best practices
  • Hands-on experience with at least one modern cloud data platform: Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools and orchestration frameworks
  • Exposure to data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Purview) is a plus
  • Experience with API-based ingestion or streaming technologies (Kafka, Pub/Sub) is a plus
