SAP Supply Chain Architect

The SAP Supply Chain Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing end-to-end supply chain solutions within the SAP ecosystem. This role ensures alignment between business requirements and SAP capabilities across planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and distribution.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture

  • Design end-to-end SAP supply chain solutions across modules such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP IBP, SAP EWM, SAP TM, and SAP MM/SD/PP
  • Define system architecture, integration patterns, and data flows
  • Ensure scalability, performance, and future readiness of solutions

Business Process Design

  • Translate business requirements into SAP-enabled processes
  • Lead design workshops for demand and supply planning, procurement, manufacturing, warehouse, and transportation processes
  • Drive standardization and adoption of best practices

Integration and Data Architecture

  • Design integrations using APIs, OData, IDocs, and middleware such as SAP Integration Suite (CPI)
  • Ensure consistency of master and transactional data across systems
  • Define data governance and harmonization strategies

Implementation and Delivery

  • Lead or support SAP implementations, rollouts, and transformations (for example ECC to S/4HANA)
  • Oversee system configuration, customization, and testing
  • Provide guidance to functional and technical teams

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with business leaders, IT teams, and external partners
  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and supply chain stakeholders
  • Present architecture designs and roadmaps to senior leadership

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for automation and optimization
  • Leverage advanced capabilities such as predictive planning, embedded analytics, and AI/ML use cases in supply chain

Required Skills and Experience

Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA (core logistics)
  • Experience with SAP IBP, SAP EWM, and SAP TM
  • Knowledge of integration technologies such as SAP Integration Suite (CPI), APIs, and middleware
  • Understanding of cloud and on-premise architectures

Functional Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes (Plan, Source, Make, Deliver)
  • Experience in demand planning, inventory management, procurement, manufacturing, and logistics execution
