Next Ventures are currently executing a search for an experienced Senior SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud Finance Lead / Solution Architect to lead the Finance workstream for a greenfield SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud implementation. This is a high-impact role that will shape the finance solution design and drive adoption of SAP best practices within a fit-to-standard and clean-core framework.

The successful candidate will combine deep hands-on Finance expertise with solution architecture, stakeholder management, and change leadership capabilities. They will work closely with Professional Services and a lean delivery team, providing technical leadership and mentoring throughout the programme.

Flexible / Hybrid , some onsite (applicants must be UK or EU passport holders).
Contract 6-18 months work
English speaking project .(Dannish would be a bonus)

Key Responsibilities

Finance Solution Leadership

• Lead the design and delivery of SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud Finance processes.
• Own end-to-end Finance scope including:
  • General Ledger (FI-GL)
  • Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Asset Accounting (AA)
  • Cost and Profit Centre Accounting
  • Bank Accounting
  • Financial Closing
• Ensure seamless integration with Sales & Distribution (SD) and master data processes.

Public Cloud Design and Architecture

• Drive fit-to-standard workshops and challenge legacy process requirements.
• Apply SAP clean-core principles and promote upgrade-safe solutions.
• Define appropriate extensibility approaches using:
  • In-app extensibility
  • Key-user tools
  • SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) side-by-side extensions
• Ensure solutions remain resilient to SAP's biannual release cycle.
• Collaborate closely with SAP Professional Services and other workstreams.

Delivery and Configuration

• Provide hands-on configuration and solution guidance within SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud.
• Support configuration activities including:
  • Organisational structures
  • Company codes
  • Business Partner setup
  • Financial accounting configuration
  • Integration settings
• Review solution quality and ensure adherence to SAP best practices.

Stakeholder and Change Management

• Guide business stakeholders through process standardisation and delta assessments.
• Drive adoption of cloud best practices and challenge unnecessary customisation.
• Facilitate design workshops and support decision-making.
• Mentor junior consultants and provide leadership to the wider Finance team.

Required Experience
Mandatory

• Minimum of three  end-to-end SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud implementations, with at least one in a Lead Consultant or Solution Architect capacity.
• Extensive hands-on experience configuring SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud Finance.
• Strong expertise across:
  • FI-GL
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Asset Accounting
  • Cost and Profit Centre Accounting
• Strong understanding of SD-FI integration.
• Proven experience with fit-to-standard methodologies and SAP Activate.
• Deep understanding of:
  • Clean Core principles
  • Scope items
  • CBC configuration
  • SSCUIs
  • Upgrade-safe solution design
  • Public Cloud extensibility approaches
• Ability to influence stakeholders and drive business process standardisation.
• Experience working within small delivery teams and collaborating with Professional Services.

Preferred

• SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition Finance certification.
• Recent SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud project experience on 2023, 2024 or later releases.
• Experience with SAP BTP and side-by-side extensions.
• Familiarity with RISE with SAP and GROW with SAP offerings.
• Experience in business process re-engineering and organisational change management.
