SAP PLM Deployment Lead.

Next Ventures are currently executing a search for an experienced SAP PLM Architect to lead the technical delivery of SAP PLM, MDG, MM, QM, and PP acting as a Deployment Lead for a global client in the consumer goods and medical sector.

This role requires deep expertise in SAP PLM for continuous products, with strong functional and technical knowledge of Specification Management, Recipe Development, Engineering Change Management, Document Management, Packaging, Labelling, and Artwork Management—all within highly regulated environments.

You will collaborate across Product/Assortment Management, R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Manufacturing functions to ensure seamless deployment and compliance.

Location -Germany ,Remote from anywhere in Europe  (applicants must be able to work in Europe and hold Eu or UK Passport) or Blue card for Germany.
Duration 6-12 months

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Lead the technical design, configuration, and deployment of SAP PLM solutions within deployment waves.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT counterparts, and clients sub stream leads to gather and validate product lifecycle requirements—particularly for SIT, UAT, cutover, and migration phases.
  • Architect and implement SAP modules and processes, including:
    • Document Management System (DMS)
    • Engineering Change Management (ECM)
    • Product Structure Management
    • Specification Management
    • Recipe Development
    • Artwork Management (with ESKO Artwork)
    • Label Management
    • Material Management
    • Master Data Management
    • Production Planning (PP)
    • Quality Management (QM)
    • Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS)

 

  • Integrate SAP PLM with other SAP modules (MM, PP, QM, EHS, AVC) and external systems (e.g., Artwork Management, LIMS, Regulatory submissions).
  • Ensure system scalability, performance, and security in alignment with industry standards and SAP best practices.
  • Oversee solution functionality across legacy waves, current wave, and future deployment phases.
  • Lead and mentor a technical team (7–15 members), perform code reviews, and enforce development best practices.
  • Manage technical risks, timelines, and deliverables within an Agile way of working.
  • Stay current with SAP innovations and propose enhancements to improve efficiency, compliance, and user experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of SAP PLM implementation experience, with at least 3 years in a lead role.
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle processes in regulated industries.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA and Fiori/UI5 development.
  • Proficiency in ABAP, BAPI, RFC, and integration technologies.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Fluent in English (additional languages a plus).

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP PLM certification.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (FDA 21 CFR Part 11/820, ISO 13485, EU 2017/745).
  • Experience with both on-premise and cloud-based SAP solutions and integrations.
