SAP GRC Firefighter Specialist (Advisory Consultant)

Next Ventures are currently executing a search for a SAP GRC SME with In-depth skills with Firefighter.

Overview
Our client has implemented SAP Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) primarily using internal resources, with limited support from external consultants. The Firefighter functionality within SAP GRC has been deployed, and the client is seeking an experienced SAP GRC specialist to provide expert guidance, implementation assurance, and best-practice recommendations. The emphasis is on reviewing the existing setup, validating the design, and advising on best practices rather than building the solution from scratch.

Remote working role .
On site visit required to Copenhagen.
Eu  / UK passport holders
2/3 months contract initially
Start date immediate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review the current SAP GRC implementation, with a particular focus on the Firefighter module.
  • Assess configuration, controls, governance processes, and operational procedures related to Firefighter access.
  • Provide expert advice on implementation best practices, common pitfalls, and optimization opportunities.
  • Recommend improvements to strengthen security, compliance, and audit readiness.
  • Support the client's internal team through knowledge transfer and mentoring.
  • Advise on Firefighter ID management, controller processes, monitoring, logging, and emergency access procedures.
  • Review integration points between Firefighter and broader GRC processes.
  • Provide guidance on segregation of duties (SoD), access risk analysis, and emergency access governance.
  • Assist in resolving design or operational challenges identified during the review.

Required Expertise

  • Strong experience implementing and supporting SAP GRC Access Control.
  • Deep expertise in SAP GRC Emergency Access Management (EAM / Firefighter).
  • Experience reviewing and optimizing Firefighter governance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of SAP security concepts, role design, and access provisioning.
  • Understanding of compliance, audit, and risk management requirements.
  • Experience providing advisory and assurance services for SAP GRC implementations.

  • SAP GRC Access Control
  • SAP GRC Risk Management
  • SAP GRC Emergency Access Management (Firefighter)

Deliverables

  • Current-state assessment of Firefighter implementation.
  • Best-practice recommendations and gap analysis.
  • Identification of implementation risks and remediation actions.
  • Governance and operating model recommendations.
  • Knowledge-transfer sessions with internal stakeholders.
  • Optional roadmap for future GRC maturity improvements.

Ideal Candidate

  • 5+ years of SAP GRC consulting experience.
  • Multiple SAP GRC Access Control and Firefighter implementations.
  • Experience working with audit, risk, and compliance teams.
  • Ability to engage with both technical and business stakeholders.
