SAP Project Cutover Manager

Next Ventures are currently executing a search for a SAP Cutover manager for a client in Sweden.

Start: ASAP
End: at least 2026-12-31 (Option to extend).
Location: Hybrid (Stockholm)
Language: English (Swedish advantage)
 

Position Summary
The SAP Project Cutover Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all activities required to successfully transition SAP solutions from project implementation into production. This role ensures business readiness, minimizes operational disruption, and delivers a controlled go-live through effective cutover planning, stakeholder coordination, risk management, and execution governance.
 
Key Responsibilities
Cutover Strategy & Planning
· Develop and maintain the end-to-end cutover strategy, plan, and schedule for SAP implementation programs.
· Define cutover scope, milestones, dependencies, critical path activities, and resource requirements.
· Establish detailed cutover runbooks, checklists, contingency plans, and rollback procedures.
· Coordinate cutover planning across business, IT, SAP functional teams, technical teams, infrastructure, security, and third-party vendors.
 
Go-Live Readiness
· Lead go-live readiness assessments and ensure all deployment prerequisites are met.
· Validate completion of testing cycles, data migration activities, training, business readiness, and operational support preparations.
· Track and manage open issues, risks, assumptions, and dependencies that could impact go-live.
· Facilitate readiness reviews with project leadership and executive stakeholders.
 
Cutover Execution
· Lead command center activities during cutover execution and go-live periods.
· Monitor execution progress against the cutover plan and manage issue resolution in real time.
· Coordinate decision-making processes for go/no-go checkpoints.
· Escalate critical issues and risks to project leadership as required.
· Ensure accurate status reporting throughout the cutover window.
 
Stakeholder Management
· Serve as the primary point of contact for all cutover-related activities.
· Collaborate closely with project managers, SAP workstream leads, business process owners, infrastructure teams, and external partners
· Facilitate cutover planning workshops, status meetings, and executive updates.
· Communicate cutover timelines, impacts, and readiness status to stakeholders.
 
Risk & Issue Management
· Identify, assess, and mitigate cutover risks.
· Develop contingency and rollback strategies for critical business processes.
· Maintain risk and issue logs related to deployment and transition activities.
· Ensure lessons learned are captured and incorporated into future deployment activities.
 
Hypercare & Transition Support
· Coordinate transition from cutover execution into hypercare support.
· Track stabilization activities and support issue resolution during the post-go-live period.
Required Qualifications
· 7+ years of experience managing ERP implementations, SAP deployments, or large-scale technology transformation programs.
· 3+ years of direct experience leading SAP cutover and go-live activities.
· Strong understanding of SAP implementation methodologies, including SAP Activate.
· Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations and complex system landscapes.
· Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholder groups.
· Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills.
 
Preferred Qualifications
· SAP S/4HANA implementation experience.
· Experience with SAP data migration, testing
· Experience in global or multi-country SAP deployment programs.
