As a founding engineer, you will have the rare opportunity to shape the technical direction of our company and build a transformative product from the ground up.

Job Description:
As a Founding Engineer, you will work directly with the CTO and founding team to design, build, and scale our core platform. You will take ownership of key technical decisions, develop scalable architecture, and contribute across the stack using your expertise in React, TypeScript, Python, and AI technologies. This is a hands-on role with significant responsibility, autonomy, and the chance to leave a lasting impact on the healthcare industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the founding team to define the product roadmap and technical vision.
  • Design and develop scalable full-stack applications with a focus on user experience and performance.
  • Build and maintain front-end applications using React and TypeScript.
  • Develop and optimize backend services and APIs in Python.
  • Integrate and deploy large language models (LLMs) and AI-driven features into the platform.
  • Architect robust and scalable solutions for managing sensitive healthcare data in compliance with security and regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Establish best practices for development, testing, deployment, and infrastructure.
  • Mentor and guide future team members as the team grows.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on full-stack development.
    • Previous experience in startups or as an early-stage team member is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong expertise in React and TypeScript for front-end development.
    • Proficiency in Python for backend development, with experience in frameworks like Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
    • Hands-on experience with integrating and deploying large language models (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face).
    • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
    • Strong understanding of scalable architecture, database design (SQL/NoSQL), and API development.
    • Knowledge of AI/ML workflows and practical applications in production.
    • Experience with healthcare compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA) is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building and problem-solving.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment.
